RNs: Time to Set Accountability Standards on Charity Care, New Bill Introduced

The California Nurses Association/National Nurses United is again joining with State Senator Bob Wieckowski of Fremont in an effort to require California non-profit hospitals to meet public accountability standards on how much charity care and community benefit services they provide, in exchange for the generous tax benefits they receive in return.

San Mateo County Nurses Contract Improves Patient Care and Strengthens the County Health System

Registered nurses have reached a tentative contract agreement with San Mateo County that they say will lead to improved patient care and strengthen the County health system. Nurses secured wage improvements that will help retain experienced nurses, added workplace violence protections, and expanded a committee of RNs tasked with addressing patient care concerns, among other gains.

Nurses to Rally At Attorney General’s Sacramento Office Tuesday

Dozens of Daughters of Charity registered nurses, joined by other hospital workers, will rally outside the offices of Attorney General Kamala Harris calling on her to approve the sale of six endangered California Daughters of Charity Health System (DCHS) hospitals to Prime Healthcare without conditions that would likely scuttle the sale and force the hospitals to close.

Sutter Roseville Nurses Vote by 96% To Authorize Strike
