Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, National Nurses United has called for the proper steps to protect nurses and public health.
- October 18, 2024 - Letter to CDC Director Dr. Mandy Cohen regarding HICPAC’s failure to include required public comments in meeting notices and concerns about new proposals regarding CDC’s assessment of scientific evidence to support recommendations.
- September 4, 2024 - Letter to OSHA Assistant Secretary Doug Parker regarding OSHA’s statutory obligation to follow the “best available science” to protect health care workers in the Infectious Diseases Rulemaking, not outdated and weak CDC guidance.
- May 3, 2024 - Letter to CDC Director Dr. Mandy Cohen regarding new WHO statement recognizing aerosol transmission science and need for CDC/HICPAC to recognize this science and include labor in process to update guidance.
