The 2018 midterm elections may seem a long way off but the time to prepare for them is now! It is absolutely essential that the Democratic National Committee (aka DNC) be led by, as Sen. Bernie Sanders says, "a progressive who understands the dire need to listen to working families, not the political establishment or the billionaire class." U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison is that progressive.

Keith has been a stalwart supporter of National Nurses United's Robin Hood Tax legislation and a co-sponsor of the bill to win nurse-to-patient ratios at the federal level. He is the co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and played an important role on the Democratic Party Platform Committee in the run-up to the Democratic Convention. There he successfully fought for the inclusion of a number of progressive positions including: enactment of a financial transaction tax to curb excessive speculation and fund human needs, expansion of Social Security and moving our economy to 100% clean energy by 2050.
