National Nurses United (NNU) union members will canvass door to door in Pittsburgh, Pa., in support of Vice President Kamala Harris, Gov. Tim Walz, and the Democratic presidential ticket, starting on Saturday, Oct. 5. National Nurses United nurses endorsed Harris for President on July 23.

“NNU members are fired up to talk with our union siblings and the people of Pittsburgh about why we support the Harris-Walz ticket,” said Cokie Giles, RN, who will participate in canvassing. Giles is president of the California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee, which is an affiliate of National Nurses United. “Vice President Harris and Gov. Walz both have strong track records of supporting working families, and both are committed to supporting and strengthening our rights as union members. Nurses like me do not want a return to the bad old days of the Trump administration. The Harris-Walz ticket is the best choice to protect our patients and ourselves.”
