Union nurses door-knock for Harris-Walz
More than 100 nurses from around the country to canvass this weekend in Las Vegas
National Nurses United (NNU) union members are joining the Nevada State AFL-CIO canvass on Saturday, Oct. 19, in support of Vice President Kamala Harris for the Democratic presidential ticket. NNU nurses endorsed Kamala Harris for President on July 23.
More than 100 RNs from around the country will join Nevada-based NNU members for the canvass, which will focus on reaching out to union-member households.
“NNU members are excited to reach out to other union members about our support for the Harris-Walz ticket,” said NNU President Nancy Hagans, RN. “We do not want to go back. The Harris-Walz ticket is the way forward to protect union rights and the health of our patients and communities.”

“As nurses, we deeply appreciate the work that Vice President Harris has done to reduce medical debt and lower the cost of prescription drugs,” said Hagans. “She believes health care is a human right, not a privilege. We know she will be a staunch ally for patients, nurses, and other health care workers. Trump has demonstrated the opposite. When he was president, he tried to repeal the Affordable Care Act, threatening the health care coverage for millions of Americans. He also risked so many lives with his dangerous, unscientific response to Covid-19.”
National Nurses United is the largest and fastest-growing union and professional association of registered nurses in the United States with nearly 225,000 members nationwide. NNU affiliates include California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee, DC Nurses Association, Michigan Nurses Association, Minnesota Nurses Association, and New York State Nurses Association.
