Nurses, Public Employees to Protest Proposed Texas Legislation
Lawmakers Introduce Bill to Strip Civil Servants of Still More Rights
Registered Nurses with NNOC-Texas will rally with other public employees in Corpus Christi, Texas Thursday for a press conference and public demonstration to protest a state legislative proposal to reduce even further the rights of public sector employees in the state.

WHERE: Communications Workers of America Hall, 1210 South Staples (at the intersection of Morgan and Staples Streets) in Corpus Christi.
Legislation introduced to the Texas Legislature this week would further prohibit dues collection by public employees unions, and eliminate the process of “consultation,” which is a limited form of collective bargaining.
National Nurses Organizing Committee-Texas, which is affiliated with National Nurses United (NNU), the nation’s largest organization of RNs, representing 185,000 nurses across the country.
