Nurses on the #BernieBus get out the Georgia vote for Bernie Sanders on Super Tuesday
Work with local labor community to canvass, phone bank, and turn out voters
This Super Tuesday, National Nurses United registered nurse members from across the country are busy getting out the vote for Bernie Sanders in Atlanta, Ga., working with local union members to canvass and phone bank.
“Voting is our voice and way to demand change,” said Lilybeth Segarra, an RN from Chicago. “As a nurse, I support Bernie Sanders because he is for Medicare for all and free access to healthcare, so that people can go to their doctors and maintain their health instead of waiting until their symptoms become so bad that they are death’s door. I traveled all this way because I think people don’t know they have a choice and options, especially here in the South, to elect someone who will stand up for the working people of America. If no one votes, we remain in silence.”
