Press Release
National Nurses United statement on President Biden’s announcement
Over the past four years, and throughout his career, President Joe Biden has worked to improve the lives of working people across this country. Under his leadership, his administration has embraced nurses’ values of caring, compassion, and community. National Nurses United is deeply grateful for his service and dedication to our nation.
President Biden has been the most pro-labor president in recent history. Over the past four years, President Biden spearheaded landmark legislation that reduced prescription drug prices for seniors, expanded health care to millions of Americans, addressed the climate crisis, and created millions of new jobs. His administration has been deeply committed to protecting the health and safety of workers, including nurses, and issued multiple key health and safety standards. The president saved the pensions of over a million unionized workers and retirees. He has strongly supported the right for workers to organize unions and bargain collectively, and is the first president to walk a picket line with striking workers.
We thank President Biden for his lifetime commitment to nurses, our patients, and our communities. We are proud to have stood with him and to have worked closely with him.
Looking forward, National Nurses United is committed to protecting democracy and ensuring that Donald Trump does not win a second term in the White House.
