Registered nurses with National Nurses United, the largest union of registered nurses in the country with more than 225,000 members, applaud Judge William H. Alsup’s ruling today ordering the immediate rehiring of federal workers who were fired unlawfully:

“NNU applauds Judge Alsup for upholding workers’ protections and calls for the immediate reinstatement of federal workers fired by the current administration.

“Among those fired were thousands of critical VA workers on probationary status, including supply staff, transport staff, and environmental services staff who work alongside nurses. These workers are essential in the provision of high-quality therapeutic care to veterans. We know these unlawful and unjust firings under false pretenses turned lives upside down, led to chaos and delays of care, and resulted in moral injury among remaining staff at the VA.

“We call on this administration to respect veterans by respecting those who are charged with their care.”
