As registered nurses who fight every shift to keep patients safe, we condemn the tragedy that took place in New Orleans in the early hours of New Year's Day. Nurses know that violence is never the solution to our country’s problems. University Medical Center nurses take their role as caregivers very seriously as they respond to this horrific emergency and care for the community. Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by this terrible event.
