Nurses Union to Hold Meeting on Kaiser Services

MANTECA - The California Nurses Association, which contends that Kaiser Permanente is escalating its reduction of patient services in Manteca, will host a community meeting at 4 p.m. Sunday at the First Christian Church, 1125 N. Union Road, Manteca.

"Kaiser is breaking its promise to our community," said Clarice Spann-Reeve, a registered nurse at Kaiser in Manteca and a union member who works in a transitional care unit.

Among the nurses' complaints: a hospital floor has closed, patients are transferred to Modesto or Stockton, and families need to travel long distances to see their loved ones.
