Government to decide on future of school health services

The Israeli Knesset (parliament) debated ending the privatization of school health nurses in Israel yesterday.  A decision will be taken by the Israeli government in about a month.  School nurses have threatened to strike over this issue.

Brazil should focus less on doctors and more nurses, says expert

The Brazilian Ministry of Health is focusing excessively on the shortage of doctors and should follow the example of countries that have invested in the training of nurses and community workers as a way to fill bottleneck in serving the population, according to Ilona Kickbusch, director of the Global Health Program of the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva.
