Los Angeles County wildfire relief resources and updates

The health and safety of our communities is our top priority. That’s why we wanted to share updates on the latest RNRN deployment to Los Angeles county as well as new resources available to those affected by the ongoing wildfires in southern California from the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor.
Right now, in response to the ongoing wildfire crisis in southern California, RNRN volunteers are on the ground in Los Angeles County, assisting with initial needs at the Pasadena Convention Center, the Westwood Recreation Center, and at the Hughes Fire shelters under the local direction of RNRN partner International Medical Corps. The situation on the ground is changing daily, and our volunteers know from experience that the effects of natural disasters can last long after news crews have left the scene. That’s why we’re committed to a responsible deployment and working with organizations on the ground to make sure aid gets where it is needed most.
There are currently twelve RN volunteers from facilities across California helping our partner organizations with medical assessment on the ground and providing much-needed assistance. With fire weather conditions persisting, we want to make sure all those impacted have access to important aid and resources.
These resources — including housing aid, food assistance, and mask distribution — are available to union members and their families affected by the ongoing catastrophic wildfires in southern California.
