San Diego nurses and veterans to rally against VA staffing cuts

Registered nurses at the VA Medical Center- San Diego will hold a rally on Wednesday, April 16, to demand an end to devastating VA staffing cuts. The VA secretary has confirmed the administration plans to cut between 72,000 to 80,000 workers, who help ensure our country’s veterans receive timely and appropriate care.

Longmont United nurses ratify their first union contract with strong measures to improve patient safety and nurse retention

Registered nurses at CommonSpirit Longmont United Hospital (LUH) in Longmont, Colo., made history today by voting overwhelmingly in favor of ratifying a new three-year contract, winning protections to improve patient safety and nurse retention. This is the first union contract for the nurses at LUH and the first private-sector contract for RNs in the state of Colorado.

Nurses from Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum unit at Houlton Regional Hospital held a town hall meeting to address news that their hospital’s administration plans to permanently close their department and what it will mean for patients seeking obstetrics care in their region.
